Fact is, considering how many people seem to think it’s a dealbreaker for the camera to not have GPS, I’m glad it doesn’t.  Considering how great the demand is without GPS, there would be no hope of getting my hands on one with GPS.

Frankly, if I was a travel or adventure photographer, I can see the advantage of built-in GPS.  But, I photograph mostly family, nature, wildlife and birds.  I have taken thousands of photographs over the past 50 years or so.  My memory isn’t very good about a lot of things, but there is something about the process of taking a photo that I can remember details of almost every photograph I’ve ever taken, including enough location information for my needs for most of them.  I'll be fine without GPS in my camera.  If, for some reason I need the GPS to help me get back to a specific location at a different time of day, I have an app on my iPhone that can do that.

My life is a circle of confusion - photography is my meditation.
