Camera options for indoor close-up shots

Hi

I've been using a Canon G9 for about 10 years now (a high end point and shoot at the time) and am finally thinking of getting a new camera. Its sole use would be:

  1. Indoor use only
  2. Close-up shots (typically 5 - 30cm from non-moving subject)
  3. Require the best depth of field possible
  4. RAW preferred (but if the above 3 are satisfied then this is a nice to have)

My knowledge is quite out of date it seems (by about a decade) and there seems to be so many options. I'm open to DSLR, mirrorless and pretty much anything that will fit in a budget of around £1000 (GBP).

Many thanks!

Alex
