Sherpest supertele lens for landscape

Hi all,

I've done some research about the subject, but since this type of lens is usually used for other purposes, did not find much relevant information for me. Buying fast prime for accasional landcape work for price of the used car is a bit of a stretch for me, so I started to look around 1500-2500 price range.

My typical shooting is:

  • on sturdy tripod,
  • manually focusing,
  • VC/IS off,
  • stopped down to lens sweet spot.

So what do I care about?

  1. sharpness, image contrast,
  2. widest aperture at what lens is capable to achieve its max. image quality
  3. ability of use with TC
  4. price

I don't care about:

  1. weight
  2. VC/IS quality
  3. AF speed / reliability
  4. used/new
  5. brand of the lens

What dou you think could suit me the best? So far, I have considered these:

  • Nikon 200-500 mm f/5,6 E ED VR
  • Sigma 150-600mm f/5,0-6,3 DG OS HSM contemporary
  • Sigma 150-600mm f/5,0-6,3 DG OS HSM sport
  • Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5,0-6,3 Di VC USD G2
  • used Nikon 500 mm F4D AF-S II
  • used Nikon 500mm f/4 P IF-ED

Thank you in advance for any advices!
