Interesting, thanks ! I'm not sure that it's of any significance, but do you know by any chance your lens' serial number ?

Earlier in the year I was able to test drive three additional 50S and was able to reproduce this phenomenon with all of them, albeit with the "mid-rim" having a varying shape with all of them.

Personally I've abandoned the idea of transitioning to either the RF or Z system this year so I probably won't be able to contribute much here. I've been wanting a mirrorless system even before the term existed and consistently disappointed ever since for various reasons so I'll stick to being patient for a while longer.

I'd be quite interested in your PSFs from the 85 !
