Re: new m6ii, new to dpp and focus stacking

So pleased to have seen this posting from you Jim. I updated DPP and went for an experimental indoor shoot. The results seem good to my tired old eyes. It looks like I can comfortably part company with the free but capable ‘CombineZP’ software.

Canon M6MkII kitted with the 18-150: Focus stacking courtesy of the feature in Canon’s software DPP - latest version 4.13.10.0, under the heading ‘Tools’ >> ‘Depth Compositing’ >> ‘Start Depth Compositing Tool’. Navigate to the relevant images >> Browse to where you wish to save the end results >> Click ‘Execute’.

Because Exif data is lost on stack processing, here is an explanation for each.

Image 1: 1/100: f/5.0: ISO 200

Image 2: 0.13: f/16.0: ISO 200

Image 3: A standard single exposure on the first image at f16 to view the fall off in focus sharpness on the furthest DVD.

Stay safe

Keith
