Is D500 still the best choice for Nikon shooter of birds/wildlife ?
2

I'm looking  to upgrade the D90 body that stays attached to my Nikon 70-200mm VR f/2.8 lens. I use this for a lot of things: airplanes, birds in flight, shore birds, wildlife, some scenery.

I also own a D500 which stays attached to a Nikon 500mm f/4 VR G ED lens for wildlife.

Looking for advice/opinions whether to move my current D500 to the 70-200 VR 2.8 lens and buy something different (such as D600 or D800 series) for the 500 f/4 ?  Or buy a second D500 body and have DX on both lenses ?  I can see the advantage of having the same body on both lenses ( I'm older and  slow to learn new systems) .
