Why does the a7c lack EIS, i.e. active image stabilization?

Why does the a7c lack EIS, i.e. active image stabilization?

Surely there is no technical limitation that prevents EIS on the a7C. The camera already is recording gyro data, so my only speculation is that Sony decided not to implement this feature due to (1) time and resource constraints (2) the processor is unable to handle EIS (3) intentional crippled feature.

I suspect it's likely due to the older processor. I could be wrong, but I'm curious if we know anything more.
