Odd Win 10 behavior

Gremlins in the machine?

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop and a desktop, both run win 10 pro, 20H2. I routinely copy data & user files from the desktop to the laptop via FreeFileSync as one method of backup. I also use external hard drives to backup. Both PCs have only 1 user account without a password so they boot into the OS when started. Both are set to not do automatic updates.

I started the Dell yesterday and it asked me which account I wanted to use. Huh? It's configured with only 1 user account. The options were my normal account, it refused. The second account option was my online Microsoft account, which I rarely visit. It required my online password, which worked. Another huh?

I deleted the MS account from the Dell and all "seems" to be OK.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

Cheers,
Doug
