Thanks guys!

you saved me some €€€ on a 40-150 😀

now i can spend 2,5k on a 300f4. I found a used one in a specialised store for used gear @1850€. Are there some issues with refurbrished models or bad copies that i must be aware of?

Well, my opinion on used gear (which I have bought a lot) is that they have a good 30-90 day return policy, so you can test the hell out of it. Some lenses are decentered or otherwise messed up. Out of the hundreds of people that got the 500PF for example, I found one person on Fred Miranda who had a bad copy (I mean, all the shots they got were not sharp, and he really tested it with static indoor subjects).

If you rigorously test it, in the long run used gear is definitely worth it. Also, I spend a lot of time paying attention to the various long lenses that are released and the Olympus 300 does not seem to have many problems.

Thx,   This is good advice!
