I'm not sure if i understood correctly, so you rely on LR to save your edits to save 5MB diskspace per JPG? What if your LR catalog gets corrupted? Or you switch to a different RAW processor?

I'd rather have all the work i've done to a set of RAW-photos saved "hard" to a JPG format and stored in a dedicated folder that i can load onto backup drives on-/offline than rely on a software catalog (that ofc can backed up, but a *. LRCAT seems much more likely to fail than a simple set of JPGs).
