Re: Is the Z50 a half Z7 ?

Both would be good choices. Sorry if that doesn't help

Never had a D5600 but I had a D5500. Frankly, wasn't that impressed. Preferred the output from my 14Mp D3100, so ditched the D5500.

Now I've added a Z6 then a Z50, & use both for landscapes, the Z50 when portability is a real concern, otherwise the Z6. Both are great, and I think would be a real improvement over your D5600. The D3100 and Df haven't degraded, they're still very good, but the additional resolution of the Zs is a noticeable improvement and more to the point the quality of the Z glass makes full use of that resolution.

I have the 16-85 which sits on my D3100, for which it is an excellent choice, but I think your 16-80 is even better and would work fine with the Z50. If you go for the Z50 get the 16-50 kit lens as well; for quality with portability it's amazing, and costs not much more.

Probably still doesn't help you.

Yes it doesn't help that much

I don't think I will be happy with the Z 16-50, like the AF-P 18-55 on the D5600, it feels just so plasticky, even if the IQ is good, I feel like using a toy and not a camera.

One solution is wait for the Z 18-140 to see how it compares to the Z 24-200. But for wide angle no solution
