The only think I don't like with my Turnstyle is the extra length of the strap. There is no easy way to tuck it. I can roll everything but I like to keep this extra length which is just what I need to release the bag and put it in front of me while standing.

Use that little velco strap that you see at the bottom of your excess strap to secure it to the main strap. If you need to adjust the strap length, this end will then slide up and down the main strap as needed.

And if you use it with a neck/across should strap, you might get a "slicing effect" on your neck. Since I now use a Peak Design Clutch, it no longer is an issue. No point having a neck/shoulder strap when the bag can easily be accessed in couple of seconds.

I like the OpTech mini quick connectors, which I use with wrist straps or sling straps attached to one quick connector on the grip side of the camera. They also sell neck straps that attach to quick connectors on both camera lugs, but I don't care for neck straps. When I'm carrying cameras in a case, I use wrist straps. If I go out with just one camera and no case, I may use a sling strap. I remove the little metal triangle pieces that are on the lugs of Panasonic cameras as soon as I buy the camera.

When you don't want to use any strap at all, the tiny connector hanging from the camera lug doesn't get in the way.

They also make a finger cuff, which is sufficient security for the tiny GM5:

Not a good idea to remove the triangular strap connectors, bare rings can cause wear to those mini qd loops.

I have pictures to prove the point and show the wear, others have also found the same problem. Even worse if you are only using one, it fails and that's see you later camera.

PD had to redesign their connectors at least twice and maybe three time because of excess wear to the thin cords.
