The 10-24 is a super useful lens, with great focal length flexibility. Image quality is exceptional for a zoom. But yes, with an f4.0 max aperture, there are situations when the 1.4 of the 16mm definitely makes a difference. If you're looking to minimize gear or save money, the 10-24 is enough, but if you are willing to keep more gear, you will be rewarded with the 16mm 1.4
