Aligning Skytracker Pro when you can't see Polaris

Hi All

I've been out a few times to try some astrophotography but am having trouble setting up my skytracker pro. The problem is that Polaris is in the direction of light pollution and I can't see it clearly until way after the milky way is visible.

Is there any other way of setting it up?

Also, if you move your tripod at all do you need to re-calibrate it?

Many Thanks
