These are very different lenses, as you know. They are not interchangeable in their applications. Normally, a good lens to complement a slow zoom is a fast prime somewhere in the middle of the range. In case you need the speed of the lens when shooting in lower light levels.

For example, take the 35 f/1.4, it is good to complement a standard zoom like the 16-80, 16-55, or 18-55. So, the 16 f/1.4 is a good complement to the slow 10-24.

The key question: do you need such a complement? Only you can answer.
