If you already have Sony why not get a secondhand a7x and a Tamron 17-28 or 28-70 ?

I found aps-c to be a waste of time - made me loose interest. I finally took the plunge and got a secondhand D850 - never looked back. Now I have an a9 and a7riii (both secondhand) and love them. You will need a decent computer screen to appreciate the images you can capture - I have a 5K LG but a good 4K should work fine.

If you do lose interest I think the resale value of a full frame might be better too.

Why was APS-C waste of time that made you lose interest?

Those Tamron look good, will put that combo on my consideration list.

I found the pictures to be very average. Lots of noise, lacking fine detail and micro-contrast, struggled in low light conditions which are often best time for wildlife. Compared to other pictures I had seen mine where unremarkable, no doubt in part because of my lack of skill.

I don't think you should blame the sensor size, but rather the camera you were using?

May I ask what APSC camera did you have?
