yes, I agree. I have the R and the R6 does not appeal to me especially. Cropping is a pretty frequent use case where the extra pixels will be handy.

doing astrophoto with R if I try to boost the exposure in post processing the banding and blue and red noise show up pretty quick so I have less latitude to tease the stars out. The banding and noise sometimes show up in darker photos not so miraculously limiting what I can do with the image.

If the R6 fixes the issues with the noisy dark areas then it may be more appealing to me. But I guess a more regular workflow would be stack images to deal with the limits of exposure and sensor performance.
