What would you use or what do you use

Pany G7, GX7, FZ1000, Oly EM10, Fuji X-T1

Why? Small, light, 16MP fine for my needs.

G7 is my main camera, the first of the G series that offered the full grip and front and back controls similar to a DSLR whilst being as small as is compatible with ergonomic. Small, lightweight, sharp stabilised lenses. Cheap, even bought new

The GX7 is my replacement for a compact. I eventually gave up on there ever being a decent compact and went for the GX7 with the tiny collapsible GM lenses. Super cheap purchased like new second hand.

The FZ1000 is an excellent all-in-one superzoom for those days when you want simplicity. Great image quality for a small sensor as well. Purchased new but cheap.

EM10 was the cheapest Oly I could get my hands on that features the superb Live bulb mode which makes long exposures a snap. I use it exclusively for long exposure work. Purchased like new second hand for next to nothing.

The X-T1 is my specialist camera for manual focus vintage lens shooting because it has the dual viewfinder, which is the only acceptable manual focusing aid in my opinion - because it is always on and requires no button pressing. I use it for shooting B&W square pics with vintage Contax G lenses. Purchased like new second hand for a very low price.

None of these can get near my DP2M for detail and sharpness in large prints, but as I don't make large prints, that hardly matters for me. Still have my SD14 set up for IR but to be honest, I haven't really used it. IR is kind of a gimmick unless you can find a use case that suits your style.

There is too much emphasis in camera buying in always having the latest and greatest. I go for what meets my needs and is cheap.

I'd love it if someone other than Leica were to bring out a dedicated mono camera that was reasonably priced. I'd also love it if Sigma could make a really good camera such that you could go Foveon without any doubts or caveats but I have given up hope of that. It's too difficult for a small company.
