Can fungus go from one lens to another through a camera body?

Re: In a nutshell: No, one lens cannot "infect" another

Yep, fungus spores are everywhere, so subject just about any object to the right (wrong) conditions, and the fungus will grow.

When I was an x-ray tech, I had a lens that I was worried about. So, I put it under the fluoroscope at work and zapped it with x-rays for about 15 minutes.

Keeping the lens in dry conditions will do more than anything to keep fungus from developing.
