Is there a Sigma look?
1

I have been a Foveon fan for a while. Gradually, I have moved to some other cameras, but still the "look" is captivating.

Now, my only Foveon camera is a converted to Nikon mount SD1M. The SDQH I had produced some lovely pictures, particularly with the Sigma lenses.

I also have a 24-35 Nikon mount Art lens and am gradually coming to the conclusion that there is a "Sigma look" to the images it and many other Sigma lenses produce. Rich, saturated, yet bright backgrounds. Beautiful vivid color transitions and in certain cases, what seems like a grainless BW look when paired with the SDQH at low ISO.

So my question or observation is, is there a Sigma look? I am considering the 105 mm 2.8 Macro for my Sony A7rII and from what I have seen, this lens also seems to render with this "look".

There is a film quality to the Art lens series I think, something amplified when paired with the Foveon cameras, but not exclusive to them.

Thoughts?
