When photographing propeller-driven aircraft, use a slower shutter speed, such as 1/125 or even 1/60 sec., so you do not "stop the prop" but get the illustion of it spinning. You may have to experiment. Chimp often and experiment to make sure you're getting what you want. Slow shutter speeds can result in unsharp photos. With jets, use higher shutter speeds -- 1/1000 sec. and above.
