A7Rii vs A7Riv
2

I know this has obviously been discussed several times before on the internet... But I also enjoy camera conversations and figure some others must as well!

I own the A7Rii and quite enjoy it. I do plan to upgrade someday, but wether I wait for A7IV, wait even longer for the A7RV, or find a used A7RIV I am not quite sure. I mostly want to wait for the IV, or the RV for the articulating screen, full touch screen, new menu system, etc; all things I would love. I love the 42MP as it provides so much extra room for cropping, but feel the 60+ MP sensors on the R series now are a little overkill.

Mostly what concerns me is just the pixel size difference. I believe the 24MP sensors are around 35um, the 42MP around 20um, and the 61MP around 14um pixels. That is quite a difference in size, which I would assume translates to quite a difference in image noise. Everything else about the RIV seems better, its mostly just a factor of how small of pixels is too small?
