Take a  quick shot of your existing turntable and post it.  I am a regular McIver when it comes to rigging things up.

Perhas a couple of heavy-duty sawhorses, plywood and some 2x4s to frame it ou. Think of an audio turntable withte mechanism in a base and the turntable itself is cases of flush with the top of the base. I do know what kind of motor you have, but if necessary, it could be slowed down by a rheostat like a sewing machine motor.  You can mark off increments in degrees on the end of the platform like a giant protractor, You could balance things out with shims, springs, wedges, etc.
