Hi guys,
(This is a repost as someone suggested I post this in macro forum instead...)
I just bought my first macro lens for my Cankn 5D Mark II. I bought the Canon 100mm Macro 2.8 USM (not the L series version, the cheaper one).
Im wanting a recommendation for an inexpensive flash that will work well on this setup for doing some macro photography, as I’ve heard that having the option of extra light may help with getting sharp and clear macro shots.
I have bigger studio monolights such as the flashpoint xplor 600 but I think that’s a little overkill for macro work and am wanting a lighter setup in an on-camera flash that would make going out in the field easier and less bulky.
I have the flashpoint r2 transmitter already (https://www.adorama.com/fprrr2tcii.html?origterm=fprrr2tc&searchredirect=true), wondering if there’s a flash I can get to simply go on top, for example (as one option)?
Also wondering if this one is compatible with the 5D Mark II, or if it only works on mirror less cameras? https://www.adorama.com/fplfsmmain.html. Also is it any good for my purposes?
im wanting to shoot textures which I can convert to my own custom photoshop textures in my graphic design work, such as rough distressed metal textures, scratch textures, paper textures, wood, concrete etc.
please let me know which flash you’d recommend for this. Thanks!
The TT350 should be powerful enough. The selling point is they are small and compact.
You'll have to devise your own ducting or diffuser anyway.
I intend to get one for use with m4/3, but mainly because they are so small.
