I think there is a difference that people forget and just lump everything together.

There is card failure. Card is dead, cannot read or write to it anymore.

Then there is card errors. Files cannot be read, but the card when formatted will continue to work.

This is where 99% of errors occur for normal usage. They blame the card, but its really user error.

The third is one is fake cards. I lump this with user error as well for not testing it before using it in a live environment.
