Odd filename when transferring image with Wi-Fi

I have a new to me X-E2 which I am enjoying using.  I like to transfer images from the camera to the phone and edit a bit so they can be posted "live".  My workflow is basic and is usually:

Import the full res photo via the Fuji camera remote app onto my iphone

Add the location data using GeoTagr app and resave, deleting the original.

Open and edit in snapseed if desired

Open Google photos to upload and save / share

The file name shown in google photos for all photos I do not edit in Snapseed is a random string of numbers and letters, for example, one it created is: 97B7C047-6D36-4B94-B4E5-86B35FBB35CE-2300-0000011487C9F62F.jpg

If I edit in snapseed and export the image before uploading, it changes to something like IMG-0001, which makes sense to me, so I guess Snapseed is creating its own naming convention.

I have tried importing and not adding location data, sending the image straight to Google Photos and the long name is created again, suggesting that Geotagr is not changing it.

The filenames on the memory card I believe are the DSCF-xxx format.

What is going on when I import them via wifi to the phone?
