Re: Photo resolution setting

Very much a matter of personal use of the JPEG output (if it's like my Moto the stock camera app won't save even larger DNGs, why I don't use it) - if it's used for casual snaps sent to social media, lower res may be fine.  Post processing or use for larger display can be a different story.

Best to learn the phone and app by trying all settings yourself - In particular, you might try using digital zoom and cropping the image to home in on the subjects and compositions you want as well as different lighting situations - the larger, higher resolution will provide better output.  (There've been recent posts from other first time phone users noting difficulty to even see properly in sunlight, so getting compositions right in camera can be a problem.)

A quick check indicates the phone has microSD, which should solve your storage problems.  For camera apps that won't save directly to External, I use FIles to SD Card (there are others), once set up all the output saved in either Internal DCIM or Pictures folders (JPEG, DNG, and video) are moved to whereever wanted on the microSD.   I can't recall if the Moto camera app saves to microSD, but if not this sort of file transfer app can simplify.

Nice phone, like that big battery.  Enjoy it.
