Oh, you are so right. I have shot in Appalachia and know exactly what you mean. Terlingua has changed a lot since the 1970s.. you really can no longer call it a ghost town as so many permanent residents have arrived over the years. I've even thought of buying a small plot of land putting up an adobe there myself. I love getting away from the city and the Big Bend area is still one of the places you can truly do that.
