Why does Sony use a S-Log 3 Lut on S-Log 2 footage?

Do I understand something wrong here?

My interpretation of the name "α7S II - Picture Profile S-Gamut/S-Log2 LUT SLog3SGamut3.CineToLC-709TypeA.cube" is, they use S-Log 2 (e.g. PP7 on a Sony 7 II) but then they use a S-Log 3 Lut?

That is somewhat confusing to me and wrong in my understanding. Can you help?

And while you are here, you might also help me:

When downloading thecube S-log 2 Lut files form their website . There are 4 files. But Sony states nowhere what they stand for. I know, you can guess from the name but it is still not super clear:

  • From_SLog2SGumut_To_Cine+709.cube
  • From_SLog2SGumut_To_LC-709_.cube
  • From_SLog2SGumut_To_LC-709TypeA_.cube
  • From_SLog2SGumut_To_SLog2-709_.cube

So we use it for Slog 2. Okay, that I understand. And in cases we convert it to the REC 709 standard. But what are the differences between these LUTs?
