58mm f/1.4 off-axis PDAF points back focus on D5
1

I recently purchased Nikon 58mm f/1.4G. Using it on D5, I need +8 AFFT (center focus point) at a distance of around 2m to the focus calibration target.

With the same +8 AFFT, I find both left and right outermost AF point will backfocus quite a bit. Setting AFFT to 0 seems to correct this but now center point is front focusing.

I don't think my D5 has any issue as it focuses correctly with 70-200mm f/2.8E @ 200mm f/2.8.

Jim K reported Sigma 135mm f/1.8 lens showed similar issue with D850 (https://blog.kasson.com/d850/nikon-105-1-4-on-d850-pdaf-accuracy-off-axis/), but Nikon 105mm f/1.4 seems to do fine, so it was assumed to be a third-party compatibility issue.

Anyone who own 58mm f/1.4, would be interested to hear if your copy needs different AFFT when using outermost left/right PDAF point through OVF.
