Web site tracking and privacy

This morning I opened my Safari Privacy Report (OS 10.15.7) and received the following information regarding my web activity over the last 30 days:

  1. Safari reported that it prevented 186 trackers from profiling me
  2. 70% of the websites I visited “contacted” trackers
  3. The “Most contacted tracker” was googletagmanager.com, which Safari prevented from tacking me across 97 websites. Google-analytics.com was in second place with 86. In third place was doubleclick.net (also google) with 59. In addition, there were four additional google tackers on the list (70 sites).
  4. dpreview employed 12 trackers including 2 from facebook.com and 1 from twitter.com
  5. The report had a surprise, reporting that I visited 5 Adobe sites that I was not aware of visiting (I do not have any Adobe products on my computer).
