Canon 180mm macro lens on Z7...

Taken handheld with Z7 & Canon 180mm macro with Fringer adapter (*)

Good afternoon to all of you!

The opportunity to use Canon lenses on Nikon Z through an adapter is another reason I prefer Z over dslr. I posted a related topic a month ago.

The above image was taken handheld while relying on AF and Z' in-camera VR. I used my SB-400 flash.
On a total of approx. 90 pictures, about 75 were showing clearly the wasps' eye facet structure.
The image is as it came SOOC, no extra sharpening or other PP was applied.
The in-camera setting was vivid, NR off.

The AF of this lens is slow but sufficiently fast to capture high detail in handheld images of slightly moving subjects (because of wind, minor subject movements and/or body movement).
The sharpness of this lens is amazing like the Nikon 200mm, but which does not AF on Z.

For walks in nature, I like to take my Canon 180mm, Canon 100-400 & my Z24-70 f4. These lenses provide high IQ in a lightweight package. The two Canon lenses together are about the weight of my 200-500 alone.

(*) the original, uncropped scene was looking like this:

Thanks for your attention and kindest regards,
