I very nearly opted for the 50-140 but instead settled on the 90f2 for action and portraits.  If you can live with the restriction of a prime, it'll reward you with exceptional IQ.  There is a fellow by the name of Mike Lix on this forum that uses a similar combo with amazing results.  The 90f2 is one of the best lenses in the X system.
