Portraits with A7iii

Hello everyone,

I'm a longtime, frequent lurker on this forum and an infrequent poster.

I could use some help. I've been asked to take some high school senior portraits. These will be outdoor shots, likely at the school.

I'm grappling with whether I can use the equipment I have or if I need to rent a dedicated portrait lens. I have an A7iii, Sigma 14-24, Tamron 28-200, Sony 200-600 and Sigma 35mm f/1.2. I also have a budget flash kit - Godox TT350S, trigger, stand, soft box, etc.

I know that my 35mm would be good for environmental portraits if I can find the right background at the school. But am I better off renting a portrait lens (85mm, 135mm)?

Any advice? I've dabbled with taking portraits in the past. I plan to practice and get my settings straight before actually showing up to take a portraits.

Thanks!
