MacBook Air 1.1GHz for editing RAW. Sufficient?

I will be buying "MacBook Air 1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core i3, with 8GB RAM" and will switch from Windows to MAC soon. Recently I have started taking interest in editing RAW and using some free editing programs. Soon I will take any paid tool like Lightroom or something else.

I went through a Reddit post, where the user said that Lightroom is way slow on even 16GB and Air is not good for editing pictures.

I'm reading that a lot of people are having issues running LR Classic CC even on machines with 16 GB RAM (even though Adobe says 4 GB minimum, 12 GB recommended), so I suppose this means there is absolutely no chance? While some users are fine. Obviously strong Mac will perform better, but I don't want to go beyond a budget.

What do you suggest based on your experience? It is still a $1000 device, so I expect it to be good, irrespective of the brand name of Apple. Isn't it?

This exact configuration I am looking - 1.1GHz Dual-Core Core i3 Processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz 256GB Storage

Suggestions, please?
