First roll with Ektachrome E100, and I love it...

Hi Folks,

Long time I have not posted here but gonna try to be more active here. Recently, I was curious and decided shooting with a roll of Kodak Ektachrome E100. Results came out, and I do love this film so much I am strongly considering shooting exclusively with E100 (and maybe Provia 100F), at east when it comes to portraiture.

Herein are a few samples from my first roll, that was shot with the Canon EOS 3 and the Tamron 45 and 85 mm 1.8 lenses. The Canon really nailed the exposure. All frames were scanned using a Plustek 8200i. No post-processing with PS, just straight from the scanner.

What I really like from E100:

  • Color tonality with unique character (negative films can't match it)
  • Skin tones are superb if you shoot portraits. Highly recommended
  • Very fine grains, nice details
  • Easy to process, scanning, and requires little to nothing to correct.

I hope I will be able to post more soon. At the moment, I will be focusing on shooting with E100 and Provia 100F.
