Thinking about moving from MFT
4

Hi All,

I am a user of EM10 Mark ii [Using primarily with EZ Kit Lens, 40-150 Telephoto, Lumix 25mm 1.7 & a Sigma 10-20 using Viltrox EF-M2 adapter.]

I love the size of this system & its pretty nifty to travel with. However, recently, I am thinking about doing some semi pro work like Pre Wedding Shoots etc. That's where I believe, MFT systems begin to trail behind other formats. The Zoom lenses which can give shallow depth of field start to get big & expensive. I am wondering if a move to bigger sensor systems will make more sense?

For the amount I can pay for EM1 Mark iii [Very expensive in my country], I can get a Nikon Z5 or a Z6 for just a bit more. Oher choice is a Fuji X-H1 with the battery grip [Available for much lesser price, XT4 is expensive in my country].

My heart wants to remain with Olympus, but everything else says, it might not give best value now.

So I am thinking of following pros & Cons:

MFT [EM1 Mark iii] Pros:

1. Mind blowing IBIS

2. Lens remain small & light & economical [Mostly, unless I buy the Pro lenses which get a bit heavy on pocket & shoulder]

3. Nifty features like Live ND, Live Composite etc

4. Great build quality & weather sealing

Cons:

1. Camera size has become very similar to FF Cameras [Rather FFs have become smaller]

2. Much less bokeh & high ISO performance

Nikon Z5/Z6:

Pros:

1. A bit lower price in my country

2. Similar size as EM1

3. FF Sensor

4. Decent IBIS

5. Strong build quality with good weather sealing

6. Overall Image Quality

Cons:

1. Less numbers of native lenses available

2. Much bigger telephoto zoom lenses.

Fuji X-H1

Pros:

1. IBIS

2. Price

3. Dual Cards

4. Good video

5. Weather sealing

6. Good collection of lenses.

Cons:

1. Possibly, I'll start thinking that I should have gone for FF if I'm spending this much

2. Last Gen Fuji sensor.

3, Size isn't compact for APSC Mirrorless.

I'm not very interested in buying a Sony Camera for no obvious reason.

Is anyone else facing such a Dilemma?

Regards

Ankit
