How to include the reflection when replacing sky in PShop 22
3

This is not a thread to discuss whether one should replace the sky or not. It's to describe how to include the sky's reflection when replacing the sky using PShops new feature.

Using the sky replacement tool in the newest PShop:

1 The original pic (not mine)

View: original size

2 Replace its sky using the new sky replacement option and flatten the image:

View: original size

3 On a duplicate of the original pic. Flip the duplicate vertically. PShop assumes that the sky is above. But because the pic is flipped PShop thinks the water is the sky - so replace that sky and flatten the pic.

View: original size

Then flip this image vertically and place it in a layer on top of the previous sky replaced version.

View: original size

Erase the sky of the previously flipped vertical image layer and adjust its opacity until the reflection looks right.

This may not work every time - but neither does PShop's sky replacer
