Which camera and lens do your recommend for shooting birds in flight?

We were satisfied with our Panasonic FZ1000 and Sony RX Mark10IV for wildlife photgraphy. Using these cameras on close-ups, African Safaris, American Big Game and Stationary Birds has produced great results. We just learned to shoot birds in flight and there are very few photographs that we consider keepers.

Intially I was interested in the Nikon D500 with the Nikor 200-500 mm lens. Then my attention turned to the Sony A7iii with the Sony FE 100-400 mm lens.

We want to get a high quality camera and lens for Bird Shooting and Wildlife Shooting. Low light capabilty, superior image quality, excellent autofocus and tracking ability are a must. What camera and lens combination have you found that works for you in this regard?
