I built a system at the start of the year and I used the two M.2 slots on the motherboard. It makes for a very nice clean and simple installation. Or, if you have a spare PCIe slot, you can get M.2 NVMe adaptors to plug into a PCIe slot for about $/£/€ 10-15.
