Sony A7R ii and Loxia 35mm - Its got me thinking

I have primarily in the past used Fuji X Trans cameras ie XT2 / X100V. The 35mm FOV is really all I need. I love it. So I purchased the X100V. Nice images however a few quirks ( ie camera gets rather warm ) with the camera meant that I returned it.

I can be rather slow and deliberate with my image taking.

My thoughts have turned to Sony. I thought that I could pick up a used Sony A7R ii and Zeiss Loxia ( I know its manual focus ) for around £1600. I understand that this combination makes for sublime IQ in the right hands.

I enjoy travel photography, landscapes, street etc etc.

My questions are and I would be most grateful for any replies :

  • Is the sensor technology used in the A7R ii still very good i.e. IQ, D/range etc
  • Is the IQ going to to better than the Fuji X100V - Would have thought so !
  • Has anybody used the Loxia - I understand that F8 yields lovely sharpness and micro contrast across the frame
  • Does anybody use this system ( A7Rii / Loxia 35mm ) and can you please let me know your thoughts on it.
  • Is the hyperlocal / distance scale on the Loxia accurate

Thanks very much.
