Does EyeAF and AI improve with firmware updates?

I have an A7riv and generally like it a lot, however the Canon R5 does appear to have better AF for a particular kind of photo I like to do a lot.  More specifically, I like to take shallow dof “street portraits” of people walking in my town center.

I do wish the face detection and EyeAF were a little more reliable at that.

Does anyone know how Sony’s EyeAF has generally improved with firmware updates?  Did it even improve significantly between the iii and iv versions of this camera?  I wonder whether or not it will be technically possible for Sony to give the A7Riv the kind of artificial intelligence AF capability of the Canon R5 that seems to make it so proficient at grabbing eyes on moving subjects.  Any insights on how possible that might be would be greatly appreciated.
