Why is live view slower

I’m not talking AF here, just the act of taking a picture. In normal OVF photography, the mirror has to lift, both curtains travel across the frame and the mirror return. It all happens in one quick, familiar “clack”.

With live view, there’s less to do, the mirror is already up so just the shutter curtains to fire, but it sound like 3 or 4 different mechanical operations and takes longer. I’m sure I could work it out with a bit of testing, but someone is bound to know already.
