ACR slow? Check your Acronis settings
4

I'm just writing to share a tip about an issue that is not well documented by either Acronis or Adobe, but easily rectified.

The Active Protection feature in Acronis True Image (2020 onwards, and perhaps earlier versions) will severely slow down the performance and responsiveness of Lightroom and the Adobe Camera Raw module. This can be rectified by either turning off Active Protection, or adding the Photoshop, Bridge, and Lightroom executables in C:/Program Files/Adobe directory to the Protection Exclusions list.

Worth noting if you have Acronis installed on your workstation, and suddenly find the updated ACR is slow as molasses. Try turning off Active Protection before undoing the ACR update.
