FAS on X-E4?

I picked up an X-E3 this week and I really like it.
If the X-E4 has a screen you can fold inwards and just use the EVF, like an Olympus PEN-F or Sony A7C, I'll upgrade no matter what the other specs are.

This is the first time I've ever seen an explicit preference for the fully articulating screen type on a rangefinder-style body. I have to take issue with this, and ask: WHY?

As a fan of rangefinder-style bodies, the PEN-F, GX8 and A7C are ruined by this flip-out screen style, which doesn't fit the retro street-shooting sensibilities at all. The X100V, GX9, a6600 and X-Pro3 make much more sense for this body type, so that the screen can face upward from behind the body, maintaining the compactness and keeping the eye behind the lens.

If the desire is to protect the lens, why not just get a screen protector? They're cheap and abundant, and do the job easily. If the desire is to hide/disable the screen, why not just turn it off and program EVF only? Problem solved, no?

The only problem a FAS addresses is (video) selfies, aka vlogging. If this is the reason, I can understand. But even the X-T100, a6600 and SH1 address this need without compromising the principles I stated earlier.

The swivel screen makes some more sense on typical SLR-style bodies because the EVF usually protrudes quite a bit over the LCD; flipping it out from under that larger eye-piece can be helpful, I imagine. But on rangefinder-style bodies, there is no need for this.

So I'm curious why the preference for this type of screen.

Image stabilisation would be nice though. Olympus has been putting it in even their cheapest cameras for five+ years.

I do agree about IBIS.
