Most younger people have NEVER seen a DSLR—maybe they think it's some kind of weapon. Many older people think that taking a photo, of someone you do NOT know, is impolite.

With many people always having their phone in their hand, instead of their pocket, it's hard to tell if they are texting or playing Packman Go. Also with both front and back cameras, many may assume that you are taking a selfie.
