Faster Lightroom Workflow

Just thought I'd share this. Since Adobe added ISO adaptive presets since version 9.3 I now (finally) have a much faster workflow which gets me close to a reasonable JPEG without having to manually adjust every photo.

By way of example, here is the unprocessed RAW:

And here is the result after automatic adjustments made when importing:

What I do is have one ISO adaptive preset which will apply roughly the correct amount of noise reduction and sharpening for the given ISO and set that as the default:

I have another preset configured which changes the profile to "Camera Portrait" and applies the auto settings for exposure, contrast, etc. I apply this on import (for some reason I couldn't create an ISO adaptive present which also included the auto settings).

By doing this I find I get a reasonable starting point for post-processing (and for most snapshots no additional editing is needed and the results are often better than JPEGs straight out of the camera).
