Given that you already have an E-M5II and EM-10II which were released in 2015, I wonder if you are really going to see much improvement in the E-M1 which was released in 2013.
Mostly the phase detection, I think.
The dynamic range of the E-M5II and EM-10II us actually slightly better than that of the E-M1.
I think your money would be better spent on the more reliable E-M1 II whichwas released in 2016 and has a better sensor than all of the above which brings a noticeable increase of dynamic range. The E-M II also bringse the high resolution mode and improvement in autofocus.
A solid suggestion. I didn't gel with the fully-articulated screen when I had the EM5 II. Great camera, but my fingers felt cramped and actually fatigue over excursions with lenses that weigh over 300g. The other less-pronounced reason is that the EM1 was as heft as I wanted to go. It's not as big as the EM1 II, which is a classic in its own right.
The size of the E-M1 and E-M1 II are very similar
Height - E-M1.1: 93.5mm E-M1.2: 90.9mm -->E-M1.2 fits in a bag slightly easier as height is often the limiting factor.
Width - E-M1.1: 130.4mm E-M1.2: 134.1mm --> E-M1.2 is 3mm wider. Don't care??
Depth - E-M1.1: 63.1mm E-M1.2: 68.9mm --> E-M1.2 has a 6mm deeper grip. Bag fit likely not affected as the grip extends in the same direction as the lens.
Weight: E-M1.1: 497g E-M1.2: 574g E-M1.2 weighs 75g more, barely noticeable IMO. About 25g is attributable to the much larger battery.
I find the EM1.2 bigger and heavier than the EM1.1. It doesn’t stop me carrying the EM1.2 and the bigger battery is a good thing. You are right that it fits in the bag just as easily.
A 675g camera and 1kg lens is about my limit.
I loved the EM1.1 but the EM1.2 is a much better camera. There is a surprising increase in IQ with the same lenses and the functionality is much improved.
