Haloing: JPG vs RAW image post-processing?

I have noted that when post-processing a jpg and its raw - both processed first in PSE's ACR with just WB and adjusting histogram, and then with NIK's Auto-dFine, Viveza's Contrast, Structure, and then with Raw Pre-sharpener (trying to do equal processing to both images), that I'm see more haloing in the jpg processed image. So, is one more likely, in general, to have less haloing when processing a raw image vs its jpg image?
