I think the problem is that some of the web site camera shops don't
do a very good job of letting you know what you're getting. Some
specifically put "IMP" next to a grey market lens. Some sites state
up front that they only sell USA products. I think it's a little
shady to sell a grey market product in the USA without be up front
about it.

I have bought grey market before, to save a few bucks. I just like
to know what I'm paying for.
